Twitter user seeks explanation after discovering that Yemi Alade has more IG followers than Wizkid

A Nigerian Twitter user with the handle @drpenking, is seeking for an explanation from Nigerians after he discovered that Yemi Alade, a Nigerian female singer has more followers on Instagram than Grammy award-winning artiste, WIzkid

On Twitter, the man asked, “Can somebody explain to me how Yemi Alade has more followers than Grammy-winning Wizkid?”

However, reactions trail the question as many Nigerians try to defend the Grammy award winner whose IG account is 2m followers less than Yemi Alade’s.

@thesonofcomfort said, “I believe Wizkid’s followers are more organic than Yemi’s. People even celebs buy followers to boost their pages.”

@Isedlil said, “The most important thing is that like others she is winning. And winning big as well. On Hopper she is number 1 female earner in Africa and number 2 in Africa. There are still others who are not in top 10 earners but still has more engagements more than her.”

@Yolhacy said, “I guess she is bigger than Wizkid around the world? That’s what you meant yeah? Btw I never underrated her in my comment.”

Fans Drag Ckay On Twitter For Liking Hate Tweet Targeted At Wizkid

Fast-rising Nigerian singer, Ckay comes under fire for liking a hate tweet targeted at the Grammy award-winning singer, Wizkid.

An unidentified Twitter user wrote that she doesn’t understand the hype about Wizkid.
According to her, the likes of Ruger, Buju, Joeboy, Ckay, Ric Hassani, Johnny Drille are better singers than Wizkid. And she’d take any of them over Wizkid a million times over.

Ckay, who stumbled across the post, decided to like it. His action was noticed by a Tweep who took a screenshot and shared it on Twitter.

Wizkid fans on Twitter wasted no time in dragging CKay through the mud.

They called him out for being ungrateful since he decided to hate on Wizkid despite bringing him out during his just-concluded three-day 02 events.

The fans warned him never to disrespect Wizkid and to instead use his time to write songs that won’t rely on TikTok to blow.

N250m Orphanage Fund: Davido Reveals Disbursement Dates

Recall that the award-winning musician had donated N250m to orphanages across the country as part of his birthday celebration last month.

Taking to his Instastory on today, the singer revealed that over 1,234 applications have been received from registered orphanages in Nigeria and that the verification was ongoing.

Releasing the updates, Davido wrote, “Verification is ongoing, and the report will be out by 15th December. Selection and disbursement 18th/19th and the press release should by 20th Dec.

“1234 responded; 852 without orphanage names; 382 with orphanage names.

“The national association of orphanages in Nigeria sent the list of orphanage homes within their coverage, which to some extent, is helping us in the verification process. God bless. We rise by lifting others.”
